This week, AWAKENING ...

we cover the story of the Buddha's own awakening and try to grasp what it means for us.

"The Psychology of Awakening"

Why is it that when we encounter difficulties in our lives, we work hard to push them away.  Be they mental, emotional or physical challenges, we fervently believe that our lives would be inherently better if things were not as they are.  Similarly, when life is going well and people, situations and events appear to be in our favour, we find ourselves frustrated or disappointed when inevitably, the bubble bursts, the moment ends and things move on.

Over the next six weeks, we will examine these universal experiences through the lens of the Buddha’s best known teachings, the Four Noble Tasks and the Noble Eightfold Path along with some liberating meditation practices.  Together we will look more closely at the existential pain of everyday living and begin to tread the path towards a certain kind of freedom, enabling us to live in the world more harmoniously with ourselves and others.

For over 2500 years, Buddhism has offered a method of practice which continues to be relevant and applicable today.

We hope you can join us.

Unless stated, all our events and activities are offered free of charge and any costs are met through member donations.  Any regular or one off financial offering you are able to make supports the very life and sustainability of the Dharma teachings.
